How WeMoney makes money

You should be able to see how we get paid before you act on anything we show you. This page explains it in plain English, and points you to our credit guide for the full detail.

The short version

  1. The WeMoney app is free to use. You do not pay us to use it.
  2. WeMoney Pro is an optional paid subscription. You only pay if you choose to upgrade.
  3. Lenders on our panel may pay us a commission if you take out a loan through us. This does not change what you pay.
One

The app is free to use

Downloading WeMoney, seeing your credit score, connecting your accounts and comparing personal loan products from the credit providers on our panel costs you nothing. We do not charge you a fee for credit assistance.

"Our credit assistance services are provided to you at no cost. You do not pay us any fees for using the WeMoney app or for any credit assistance we provide." WeMoney Credit Guide, section 4, How We Are Paid
Two

WeMoney Pro is a paid subscription

WeMoney Pro is optional. It is a separate paid plan that unlocks premium features such as unlimited custom categories, desktop accounts and transactions, Equifax credit fraud detection, automatic goal tracking and an ad-free experience.

The published price is: "Your first week's on us. Then, $9.99/month, billed monthly." You can try it free for 7 days and cancel any time.

A subscription renews automatically, either monthly or annually, and you can choose between a monthly or annual subscription. Our published cancellation route is the App Store.

You do not need WeMoney Pro to compare or apply for a loan. Our credit assistance is provided at no cost whether or not you subscribe.

Three

Lenders pay us a commission

This is the main way the free part gets funded. When you successfully take out a loan through WeMoney, the credit provider pays us.

"We receive payments from credit providers when you successfully obtain a loan through our service." WeMoney Credit Guide, section 4, How We Are Paid

The two kinds of commission

  • Upfront commission: a one-time payment when your loan settles.
  • Trail commission: ongoing payments based on the outstanding loan balance, where applicable.

What this does not do

A commission we receive is paid by the credit provider, not added to your loan by us. The credit provider sets your rate and your fees, not us.

"The commissions we receive do not affect the interest rate or fees you pay on your loan. These are set by the credit provider." WeMoney Credit Guide, section 4, How We Are Paid

If you want the detail, ask us using the contact details in our credit guide. As that guide says: "You can ask us for more details about the commissions we receive from particular credit providers."

We are not the lender

WeMoney does not lend you money. We help you compare and apply, and the credit provider decides.

"We do not provide credit ourselves. When you apply for a loan through the WeMoney app, you are applying directly to the credit provider, not to WeMoney." WeMoney Credit Guide, section 2, Our Services

That also means we cannot approve you. Every lender makes its own assessment of every application, and applying through WeMoney is not an approval, an offer of credit or a guarantee.

What we compare, and what we do not

We want to be blunt about the limits of what you are seeing.

WeMoney compares products from its partner lender panel only. It does not cover every provider or product in the Australian market.

There are lenders and products in Australia that we do not show you, because they are not on our panel. If a product is not on our panel, it will not appear in the app, no matter how it compares. We do not claim to show you the whole market, and we do not claim to find you the cheapest loan available anywhere.

Who is on our panel

The credit providers we work with on personal loan products, copied from our credit guide on 29 July 2026. Our credit guide is the current list, and it can change.

  • Driva
  • Harmoney
  • Jacaranda Finance
  • Latitude
  • loans.com.au
  • MoneyMe
  • NOW Finance
  • OurMoneyMarket
  • Plenti
  • Revolut
  • Wisr
"Our panel may change from time to time. We will update this Credit Guide when there are material changes to our panel." WeMoney Credit Guide, section 3, Credit Providers on Our Panel

The credit guide is always the current source of truth for the panel. Read it at wemoney.com.au/policies/credit-guide.

Common questions

Is the app really free?

Yes. Our credit guide states that "Our credit assistance services are provided to you at no cost. You do not pay us any fees for using the WeMoney app or for any credit assistance we provide." The free app is funded mainly by the commissions lenders pay us when a loan settles, and by members who choose to subscribe to WeMoney Pro. WeMoney Pro is the only thing on this page you pay us for, and it is optional.

Does WeMoney get paid more if I pick a particular lender?

What we can tell you from our credit guide is this: commissions are paid to us by credit providers when a loan settles, they are made up of upfront commission and, where applicable, trail commission, and "The commissions we receive do not affect the interest rate or fees you pay on your loan." You can also ask us for more details about the commissions we receive from particular credit providers. What this page does not tell you is whether every lender pays us at the same rate, so please do not read the answer above as a claim that they all pay the same.

What is WeMoney Pro?

WeMoney Pro is our optional paid subscription. It adds premium features on top of the free app, including unlimited custom categories, desktop accounts and transactions, Equifax credit fraud detection, automatic goal tracking and an ad-free experience. The published price is "Your first week's on us. Then, $9.99/month, billed monthly." You can try it free for 7 days and it renews automatically, either monthly or annually. Our published cancellation route is the App Store.
